How to Make Bleach Splatter Jeans

Bleach-splattered denim pants make for an edgy, fashionable alternative to plain, everyday jeans. Whether you're looking to spice up that old pair of jeans you've had sitting in your closet for months, or looking to obtain a pair of bleach-splattered jeans for a fraction of the cost, bleach splattering your own jeans is a fun pastime. Your friends won't be able to tell the difference between your homemade bleach-splattered jeans and a pair from the store.

Instructions

    1

Fill a measuring cup halfway with bleach. Once you begin to bleach the jeans, you can refill the cup as often as needed.

    2

Hold the jeans over a bathtub or other surface where it is safe for excess bleach to spill. Wear gloves to protect your hands from the strong chemicals in the bleach, and wear old clothing to avoid ruining any of your favorite clothes.

    3

Scrunch handfuls of fabric in your hand, starting at the bottom end of the pants, and pour bleach into the creases that form. As you pour, the material begins to change colors. Continue pouring the bleach into each crease until you have faded the dye to the color you desire. You can pour more bleach in some areas and less in others to make for multicolor splatter patterns, or you can bleach each crease to the same color.

    4

Wash the jeans in a washing machine once you have finished the bleaching process. Dry them in a clothes dryer afterward to see the finished product.
