Anyone can find a pair of pants that fits, according to O, the Oprah magazine. Scoring the perfect pair comes down to knowing what kinds are out there and obtaining the knowledge of how they fit your body. Where you live and what activity you will take part in are other factors to consider when learning about pants styles. Different type of pants include dress, jeans, leggings and cropped.
Capri
Capri, or cropped, pants are great to own when the temperature rises. Capris are often made out of cotton, nylon, polyester and denim. Four rules apply to finding your perfect fit, according to Ladies' Home Journal. Find a pair that falls to the middle of your calf. Choose capris that work with your curves. Add flip flops or a casual sandal for an informal weekend look. Dress them up by wearing either cotton or silk varieties.
Dress
Dress pants types include trousers and gauchos. Trousers come in a variety of materials and colors. They suit any body type. When purchasing trousers, take a look at where you will wear them. For example, one pair may work for work and another for eating at a nice restaurant. If you live where the weather heats up during summer, consider slacks made with linen. Wool pants work well for winter. Pull together a classic look by paring a dressy blouse with your trousers. Gaucho pants appear lengthy and are wide at the legs. Choose types such as tweed or wool for activities that require dressing up.
Jeans
Jeans get worn to the office, at home, on a date and while you're traveling. Different types of jeans include skinny, boot cut and baggy, among others. You can pull off the skinny jeans look if you are comfortable with showing off your legs, as these jeans cling to every curve. Boot cut jeans work well if you have a curvy figure because the pants accentuate and enhance your natural body shape. Baggy jeans are doable as long as they don't wind up looking messy. Pair a fitted shirt with baggy bottoms. Any body type can wear them.
Leggings
Leggings hug the skin and come in materials such as denim, cotton and lycra. How tight they cling depends on material and the pattern of the leggings. Denim leggings, especially a dark pair, are great for hitting the town paired with a flowing blouse, a weighty necklace or bracelet and high heels, and they are often more forgiving than skin-tight spandex. Make leggings appear casual by placing a loose-fitted shirt with either material mentioned above.
