A well worn, ripped hole in your jeans is like a badge of honor. It means that particular pair of jeans has been through a lot -- good or bad. It can be particularly hard to wait for a new pair of jeans to have that distressed, comfortable, ripped up feel. For those of you who can't wait for your favorite pair of jeans to age naturally, you can make your own ripped holes fairly easily with a few tools.
Instructions
- 1
Lay the jeans down on a flat work surface.
2Scratch the area that you would like to create the hole with a cheese grater or steak knife.
3Apply more weight as your rub with the cheese grater or steak knife for a larger hole. You will start accumulating a frayed pile of denim, which can get thrown out as you work.
4Wash the jeans and dry normally.
5Trim any long threads off with scissors.
