How to Remove a Cuff Crease in Denim

If you're hemming or adjusting the length of your jeans, you may have to also remove the crease from the previous cuff. Removing a cuff crease from denim can be done easily at home with a few tools.

Instructions

    1

Lay the pair of jeans flat on a table. Turn the cuff inside out to expose the seam.

    2

Remove the stitches in the cuff using a seam ripper. Unroll the cuff and turn it right side out.

    3

Mix two-parts white vinegar to one-part water in a spray bottle. Spray white vinegar liberally on the crease.

    4

Lay the jeans on an ironing board, and place a no-lint white cloth over the crease. Press the crease with a warm iron. Turn the jeans over and spray white vinegar mixture to the other side of the cuff. Repeat the ironing steps.

    5

Place the jeans in the washing machine once the crease has been completely removed. Wash as normal and place in the dryer or line dry.
