How to Roll Jeans for the Most Flattering Look

How to Roll Jeans for the Most Flattering Look

Jeans are a classic staple in pretty much everyone's wardrobe. Cuts and styles have changed throughout the years, but rolled jeans have remained a style standard for decades. Both men and women can roll their denim to create a subtle change to that favorite pair of skinny or even boot-cut jeans. The rolled-cuff style can also be worn with a number of shoes, from flats and loafers to high platforms and booties. There are two classic, basic ways to roll jeans.

Instructions

The Skinny Roll

    1

Put on the pair of jeans you would like to roll. Grab the bottom hem of one leg of the pair of jeans on each side by the seam.

    2

Flip up the bottom hem using about a half inch of fabric so that the inside of the jean is facing outward and the bottom edge of the pant leg is now facing up.

    3

Grab the bottom of the pant leg again and roll a second time using an equal amount of fabric to create a tight, skinny roll. The second roll is optional.

    4

Repeat this rolling technique with the second leg. Wear this look with flats, pumps, summer sandals or more delicate footwear.

The Large Roll

    5

Don the jeans you want to wear. Grab the bottom hem of one pant leg and fold upward using about two to four inches of fabric.

    6

Grab the bottom of the new fold and fold once again using the same amount of fabric.

    7

Grab the bottom of the newest roll and flip up once again so that the top of the new roll hits the top edge of the last roll. This final roll is optional and works best with pants that have a bit of extra fabric.

    8

Repeat this rolling technique on the other pant leg. Be sure to roll both legs so that they are even. Wear this style with any type of shoe, especially pumps, loafers or low-cut boots. Both men and women can wear this style.
