Designer blue jeans that have been embellished can often cost hundreds of dollars. For those of you who aren't afraid of a glue gun or a needle and thread, the possibilities for decorating and embellishing your favorite pair of jeans are endless. By embellishing on your own, you'll not only save money, you'll also create your own unique style.
Instructions
- 1
Apply beads in decorative designs along the pockets and the front of the blue jeans with a glue gun. Vary the color and style of the beads for an eclectic style or use one color and style of bead to create a more monochromatic look.
2Create a line of glue with your glue gun where you would like to attach trim. Cut the trim to the size of the line of glue. This works particularly well along the side seams of the blue jeans or along the bottom of the jeans to add some detail along the cuff.
3Apply long pieces of masking tape into vertical rows along the legs of your blue jeans. Be sure to line the tape evenly. Spray fabric paint directly onto the blue jeans and let the paint dry according to the instructions on the can. The time will vary depending on the type of paint you are using. When the paint is dry, rip off the tape. The areas that are covered in tape remain blue and the other areas will be the color of the paint you chose.
4Cut colorful pieces of felt into designs like like diamonds and hearts. Using your glue gun, glue the felt pieces onto the back of the pockets or along the cuff to add some color and detail.
5Thread an embroidery needle with some embroidery floss in your color of choice. Using a very basic stitch, follow the line of the pocket. This will create a colorful outline. You can continue using the same stitch, and create designs like flowers and stars on other areas of the blue jean.
